On a cool Friday night in March 2017, Cristian from Nicaragua, who had recently moved to Atlanta from Carrollton, Georgia went out looking to hear some Latin music and have a good time. At the same time Pamela from Puerto Rico, who had lived in Atlanta most of her life, was being convinced by a friend to get off her couch, put down her glass of wine, and go to a place that reminded them both of the good ol’ college times. Neither one of them had plans to meet anyone, but after many laughs and a few dances at Loca Luna, and then singing Cristian Castro on the top of their lungs together, both of them knew they had to see each other again. A couple of days later their first official date was a walk to Zaxby’s in North Avenue, in which the conversation seemed endless. 

As time passed, they spent more and more time together, enjoying simple things like hiking and photographing mountains, getting on MARTA trains without a destination and exploring the city, and getting breakfast at various ‘cafecitos’. After five years together, he took her back to that same Zaxby’s, and as she was clueless about what was happening, he got down on his knees and asked her, unintelligibly, to marry her. She said a yes mixed with lots of tears and laughter. Even though they are both stubborn and can bicker every once in a while, their love of adventure, spontaneity, their cats, and just being with each other is quite great so they would like to celebrate it with you!
